Chemistry and Biochemistry Students Recognized in Lab Coat Ceremony

Fourteen chemistry and biochemistry majors earned a personalized Rose-Hulman lab coat to signify their progression into more advanced research.
Fourteen chemistry and biochemistry majors received a lab coat upon successful completion of CHEM 291: Introduction to Chemical Research in a ceremony that took place February 18. Each student was given a professional department lab coat with their name embroidered on it to wear in labs for the remaining years of their major. This is the fourth year of the lab coat ceremony.
Allen Beiter, Christopher Benitez, Olivia Carey, Anthony Chapman, Seth Chester, Lorelai Lovell, Brendan Macdonald, Nico Simoni, Logan Smith IV, Peyton Smith, Leo Tao, Garnet Waldrop, Lila Bo Williams, and Ashley Zimmermann received lab coats this year.
CHEM 291introduces students to skills necessary for conducting chemical research and is reserved for students who are declared as chemistry or biochemistry majors. The lab coat signifies the students’ progression into more advanced studies and research within their majors.
